EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

The Emergency Management Department of the YMD Levee Board coordinates all emergencies with other agencies. Jamie Roberson, the Emergency Management Director, works with MEMA and the local counties in the event of any disasters. If the Levee Board is requested for an emergency, the Emergency Management Department coordinates with the requesting agency. The Emergency Management Department also works with FEMA on reimbursements for the Levee Board in federally declared disasters. The Levee Board has a Mobile Command Center that has radio communication and GIS equipment that can be used in a disaster. Jamie Roberson is also a member of the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security Task Force 4. He is the Food Unit Leader for all four task forces.
